New Blog

Visit our new blog Trailerhood Aristocrats to keep up on the Golding family's Wild Horse adventures. For all of you Tressie's Blog fans, don't worry, it's not going away!

Trailerhood Aristocrats

We don't have a neighbor named Carl Dean with pink flamingos on his porch. No gambling Jane across the street who's always got the poker game. And I'm pretty sure if a tornado's coming, we're going to head for cover, not grab our six pack and lawn chairs. But we do think it's our little piece of paradise and there is always something going on down in our trailerhood. So we invite you to keep up with our trailerhood adventures here on the ranch through our new blog Trailerhood Aristocrats.

Remote Junkie

Our little lady is a major remote junkie. It's how we got her to crawl (yes, in other news...WE HAVE A CRAWLER!)...we just put the remote across the room from her and through grit and determination, she would get to that remote.

Well, if there could ever be a source of friction between T and Grandpa...the remote was it...neither one of them wanted to share. So for now, we have a solution...

T loves her new Elmo remote. All sorts of ewws and ahhs over it!

So to keep her loving it, I think we all just need to treat it as the real thing, as though it's off limits...that should keep it desirable!

Big Day

Today was a great big day...my Grandma's 50th birthday and Grandpa & Grandma's housewarming party.

We celebrated Grandpa and Grandma's new house with a community open house this afternoon and then dinner for Grandma's birthday with family and close friends tonight.

Happy birthday Grandma! I love you so much and am such a lucky little girl that I get to spend my days with you!

Meeting 6-week-old second cousin Jaxen...I thought he was pretty cool!

Uncle Willy and Auntie Katie made the trek to Wild Horse for the big party.

Summer Send Off

Saturday night was Great Grandpa Hammer's annual "end of summer" party. We roast a goat, roast hot dogs and marshmallows over the bonfire, enjoy live music, and most of all enjoy visiting with family and friends from the community. It was a great time...we had a HUGE turnout this year!

Now that's a look if I ever saw one...don't know who said what to her!

Hanging out with the Harr girls...T just loves Skyla and Kelsi!

Sitting by the fire with Grandpa.

Hope everyone had a great first day of fall! Loving this weather!

6 Month Stats

I promised stats after our visit to Dr. Hoover:
(Side note...we just love Dr. Hoover! He's an Iowa farm boy, who has practical, common sense methods.)

- 15 pounds 10 ounces (I would've guessed at least 17, she's getting chunky!)
- 24.5 inches
- Growing and developing great!
- Dr. Hoover's blessing to try lots of new foods (which thrills T, she's way more into our plates than her bottle).
- He did say she doesn't need her 2AM bottle...start weaning her off that with water...hmmm, I think T might like to have words with Dr. Hoover about that one!
- She did just fine with her shots.

Our little lady is just perfect...but we already knew that : )

Little Friends

Wednesday night we had dinner with our group of SFP friends. As always, it was great to see everyone and catch up...it's such a fun group.

I just had to share these adorable pictures of Tressie and Alice that Marcia took. The girls have grown lots since our last BBQ.
.

It'll be fun to see the Bolton's on occasion so the girls can play together when they get bigger. We're looking forward to having this group out to the ranch!

The move...

Wild Horse is our new home!

The move has gone well. Friday night Justin and I were up most of the night trying to finish up packing...we finally had to stop for a few hours of sleep and I finished packing Saturday morning with the open box, dump drawer method (literally).

Saturday morning, Mom & Dad, Grandpa & Grandma Chisman, Sheryl & Randy, and Jase & Gary helped us get everything loaded up and the house cleaned. We owe this group BIG...couldn't have done it without them! It was sad leaving our first home...but it was all better when we were unloading things into the trailerhood and I was standing in my kitchen and out the window I could see our horses in the pasture...oh yes, this is so much better! That group, plus John & Dave helped us get everything unloaded: into the trailerhood, all over the patio, into the old house we all use for storage, into the garage...yes, Mom and Dad both told me they never knew we had so much stuff!

We've worked at getting it put away last night and today. We of course had a big day planned, but have a real sick group of calves, so Dad and Just spent the whole day doctoring them. Pray the medicine works and pray for some much needed moisture (the dust is partly to blame).

It'll be a busy week in the evenings trying to get to stuff put away...I won't be able to relax until we're settled!

The Lasts

The lasts are beginning...

I just finished Tressie's last bath at this house.

Tomorrow is my last day in the Colorado Springs office.
Tomorrow is our last day with Freda and Pam.

I'm getting a little sad. I usually don't wear my heart on my sleeve, but with all of the stress of selling the house (today we've gone from maybe the whole thing falling apart, back to still maybe closing on Monday...) and packing, the next few days could be interesting.

I just have to keep reminding myself that for all of the lasts there will be a new first!

Thank you Starbucks...

...for bringing back the Pumpkin Spice Latte the week before I moved so I could get one every morning on my way to the office.

But more importantly...my pocketbook and waistline are more thankful that we're moving 100 miles away from Starbucks next week!

Go Rams!

Go Rams!!! Beat the Buffs!!!

I finally got some hair...funky!!! : )

Commit Me

Start filling out the admission paperwork, double my dose of anxiety medicine, send a big bottle of something strong...

Those of you that know me, know that I am not handling this very well.

But for the next week, I will live with the feeling of an impending heart attack and enjoy all the freezer burnt meals on the assortment of paperware that we dig out of our pantry and eat on our kitchen floor because that's the only place we can find to sit.

(Justin had the day off and drug everything up out of the crawl space...yes my friends, this is all just from the crawl space...he warned me it was bad, but when I walked in the door tonight I still felt my chest tighten and a little light headed.)

T's pretty happy through it all (she hasn't learned yet how stressful a messy house is)...she just hopes she doesn't get lost in the piles.

We're having a garage sale in the morning (or well, in six hours...yes, it is 1:09 a.m. and my husband is out driving around hanging up signs). I'm considering just letting people stumble through the house and make an offer on anything they can dig up!

Are you ready for some football?!?!

T is...she's rockin' her new jersey!

Assuming her Sunday afternoon game watching position...
"Can I get the remote please..."

Now all she needs is for Mom to make her her "Te"bow (very special hair bow of course)! We do love our rookie!

Go Broncos!

Happy 1/2 birthday to T!

It's hard to believe that our little lady is already 6-months-old! She is growing and changing everyday. She's a feisty, strong-willed little thing who keeps us hopping!

We visit Dr. Hoover next week, so we'll update you on stats then.
We do know one thing for sure...she's grown...A LOT!
