Life in Phone Pictures

Whew!  What a week it's been around here.  Last Saturday our dogs wandered off and couldn't find their way home.  Thankfully, after 60+ VERY stressful hours, they finally returned home.  I'm just glad this week is almost over.

Last weekend, the Little Lady and her Grandpa took a few minutes to hang out and watch the goats play.  The baby goats are really cute and fun to watch run and jump around!

Sunday afternoon, we went to my uncle's 50th birthday party.  I made him this "50 sucks" sucker bouquet and the Little Lady painted him this beautiful card.

Here's the Little Lady all decked out in her birthday party outfit, waiting to get her 2-year-old pictures taken.  Well, enjoy this picture, because it's as good as it gets.  When it was her turn, she had a COMPLETE meltdown.

Meltdowns are hard work.  Here she is on the way home.  I tried to take her headband off because I thought it would be more comfortable for her.  She insisted on keeping it on AND having it pulled down over her eyes.  Whatever.

Monday, John Wayne and I both had the day off work for President's Day.  We just moped stayed around the house, hoping the long lost dogs would come home.  We did have some hot cocoa.  The Little Lady thought that it was pretty darn tasty!

Tuesday, the long lost puppies finally returned home!

Another big thank you to all of you who said a prayer for our pooches {and us}!

I had to go to Denver this week for several meetings.  One of my meetings was at the State Capitol.  Let's just say it made me appreciate the fact that I live in Wild Horse and work in Limon even more.

So yeh, no tragic events {and our one tragic-to-us event had a happy ending}, but I will still say that I'm not sad to see this week come to an end.

Happy weekend from the Trailerhood!

Home Sweet Home

After a very long, stressful 62 hours, through the power of prayer and by the grace of God, Lucy and Lacy are HOME!

My Mom called me shortly after I arrived at work this morning..."I have some partially good news, Lacy is home."

While I was thrilled that Lacy was home, it was bitter sweet, I was then instantly more worried about Lucy. There was only one logical explanation for this is my {stressed out} head: Lucy was dead.

Well, thankfully I was wrong, and about two hours later, I got the phone call from my Mom that I was hoping for..."Lucy has been found!" Our friend at a neighboring ranch said they were shipping cattle when Lucy wandered in.

Lucy was found about 7 miles away, only two hours after Lacy came home. John Wayne and I have determined it played out something like this:

Setting: the middle of the pasture, two tired dogs, after being gone for two days.

Lacy {the good dog}: "Screw you Lucy, I'm going home. I've had enough of this being free crap, I want to go home to my warm bed. And food. And Mom and Dad and Tressie. And food."

Lucy {the rebel dog}: "Fine Lacy, you big baby, do whatever you want, but I love being free."

Lacy: "Fine."

Lucy: "Fine."

And off they went their separate ways.

Several hours later, after being reunited.

Lucy: "Lacy you schmuck, you had to run home and I got a pick-up ride."

We are just SO thrilled to have all of our happy little family together again. Thank you so much to each of you who prayed for us and our pooches. Like one friend reminded me on Facebook, "God cares about our pets too!"

Lucy and Lacy

My heart is breaking this morning...our two beloved golden retrievers wandered off yesterday afternoon and now can't find their way back home.

I know all of you out there are too far away to help look for Lucy and Lacy, but please do one thing...pray for their safe return home.

Thanks : )

Life in Phone Pictures

Happy Friday!!!
Man oh man, the weeks are going by fast here in 2012.

Last Friday, the Little Lady's adorable new shoes arrived!  They're going to look perfect with her birthday party outfit.

When the Little Lady was sick, my Mom and Dad bought her this ridiculously large pink puppy.  She loves it : )

My Mom made us these yummy Valentine cupcakes!
I cheated and ate one.
Totally worth it.

I had to be on travel for work on Tuesday night {sad face} so we let the Little Lady open her Valentine's on Monday night.  My Mom and Dad gave her an Alvin & The Chipmunks Valentine DVD.  She watched it on her little portable player so John Wayne and I could watch The Voice.  John Wayne and I gave her a new outfit, some art supplies and a memory game.

I mentioned that I had to be on the road on Valentine's Day, but John Wayne treated me to lunch before I left town, and then on the road, I treated myself to a chocolate cherry milkshake from Sonic.

Notice my Adele CD in the background?
I'm currently obsessed with her.
And yes, I'm old school like that, I still buy CDs.

The Cambria Suites, where I got to spend Valentine's Day, alone, me and my Chick-fil-A takeout.

But...I was in Fort Collins {my favorite city} at CSU {my alma mater and happy place}!

Here's to a great weekend!
Do you have big plans?
We have several things planned with friends and family, can't wait!

Life in Phone Pictures

Good Morning and Happy Friday!
This week has gone by pleasantly fast. Especially considering the Little Lady has been sick all week.

Our Super Bowl snacks were simple: homemade salsa, guacamole and quesso and these cookies.

I started working on decorations for the Little Lady's birthday party.  It's going to be here before I know it!

Yep, still sick : (

Here's my latest Pinterest project, fabric covered cork boards for my office.

And on that side note again, STILL having Blogger issues.  If any of my blog friends out there from InstaFriday have any idea how to get my right sidebar items back to where they belong, rather than at the bottom where they've mysteriously appeared, I'd love any suggestions or tips that you might have.

Pinterest Project {Fabric Covered Cork Boards}

The second I saw this idea on Pinterest, I knew that I wanted to make some for my office.

I have lots of scrap fabric, so all I needed to purchase was the cork.

I just bought this pack of cork tiles. If I had it to do over, I might have purchased the pre-cut circles, but then I wouldn't have the varying sizes of circles that I ended up with, which I kinda like.

I just gathered household items to use as patterns.

I just used scissors to cut them out, but an x-acto knife might have worked better.

The cork tiles were really thin, so I cut two of each size and hot glued them together to make them thicker.

Then I just quickly cut a circle {or close enough to a circle} out of the fabric about an inch or so bigger than the cork circle.

Then you just pull, gather and glue a several inch section at a time.

And there you have it...pretty cork boards!

What's your latest Pinterest project?!?

And on a side note...I am SO frustrated with Blogger right now...it's moved all of my right sidebar info to the bottom of my blog?!? I spent all of my lunch hour today trying to figure it out with no luck. Any ideas???

Life in Phone Pictures

Friday.
Thank you.
I have been waiting for you.

Last weekend, the Little Lady, John Wayne and I enjoyed a ride.

The Little Lady has gone on quite a few rides and liked it, but this was the first time we had an all out hissy on our hands when it was time to get off.

I had a Starbucks giftcard from Christmas and decided to use it to buy this bright and cheery new mug.

Have you tried their new Blonde roast? I like it.

Probably the highlight of my week was when this little beauty arrived!

The Little Lady is currently obsessed with brushing her teeth. After like 10 minutes of it, I finally have to take it away and you guess it...a hissy ensues.

I love the tip one of my work friends gave me: set a timer and when the timer goes off, we're done brushing. Hopefully this will help!

And finally, I've had a lot of windshield time and time with this thing again this week. I've spent the week at two different shows, 200 miles apart. I love the trade shows, but am thankful I don't travel the circuit day in and day out.

Have a wonderful weekend!
It's cold and snowy here, so I'm going to hunker down with a cup of coffee and my book!

Currently

I saw this idea on my blog friend Mer's blog, Life at 7000 Feet, and loved it so much, I asked her if I could borrow it!

Currently

Current Book: I just started Mockingjay, book number three in The Hunger Games series. If I don't get it finished before, I'm sure I'll finish it this weekend. These books are incredibly captivating!

Current Playlist: I have not been on a music kick lately...weird, because I usually have it playing most of the day in my office, but not lately???

Current Color: Turquoise. Current color...forever color...

Current Drink: My current coffee of choice is Starbuck's new Blonde roast, so I start my day with that, but then TRY to just stick to water for the rest of the day.

Current Food: Boring...a Special K bar for breakfast and a sandwich, Baked Lays and apple for lunch. Dinner is usually a treat though, because more often than not, my sweet Mom invites us to stay for dinner when we pick the Little Lady up. {Yes, I realize how incredibly spoiled I am.}

Current Favorite Favorite: Hands down, The Hunger Games trilogy.

Current Wishlist: A custom made cowhide purse with our brand on it. I have the money saved up and everything, I just need to find the right person to make it.

Current Needs: A miracle lotion to cure my INCREDIBLY dry/itchy/red/rashy {I'm sorry, was that too much?} skin.

Current Triumph: I worked out five days a week for the whole month of January. Whoop whoop!

Current Annoyances: The 5 million or so unorganized pictures on my computer and the fact that I am yet to get them organized.

Current Indulgence: An amazing homemade cinnamon roll. My bestie and I hold each other to no sugar during the week. That was at the forefront of my mind as I was choosing to eat it and I immediately emailed her and confessed, but it was so worth it :)

Current Mood: Very happy and content with life.

Current Blessing: My job, I really kinda like it :)

Current Outfit: With all of the trade shows I've been attending for work, I feel like all I've been wearing is polos and oxfords with the Farm Credit logo on them. Hot, I know :)

Current Excitement: The Little Lady's 2nd birthday is just a month away. I'm in full party planning mode!

Current Link: Pinterest. For all of you pinners out there, enough said.

There you have it, my life currently. I'd love to hear what's going on in your life currently!
