Safe Spot
We just had a TERRIBLE thunderstorm. It only takes a partially cloudy sky to make Lucy nervous, so needless to say, she was a wreck. She's always in search of a "safe spot"...when I was rocking T to sleep, she finally found one that worked for her.
Not my first rodeo...
Back to Kiowa today for the Elbert County ranch rodeo.
Getting my time in with Moe before the rodeo...watch out Grandpa, I think someone wants your horse!

Me and Mom are Dad's biggest fans...we're proud of our cowboy!

Kelsi was absolutely cracking me up...she was bouncing in front of me and I would just laugh and laugh! One of my favorite things about the rodeos...getting to hang out with the Harr girls!

Another rodeo in the books. For awhile I thought we were going to be up for the hard luck award, but then our boys turned in the quickest time in the branding event. Until next time, happy trails.

Elbert County Fair
Today we went to Kiowa to the Elbert County Fair for the Jr. Livestock Sale.
Hanging out in the shade after the buyer's BBQ.

Me and Auntie Katie in our matching outfits...we didn't even plan it!

Hanging out with Charley in the steer barn.

Riley and Bob - this was Riley's first year in 4-H and she did great, winning first in her class! I hope Riley enjoys 4-H and fair as much as her Aunt Katie and I always did!

Watching the sale with Uncle Jase, although I was much more interested in playing with his sunglasses than watching the sale.

Cousin Gary selling his first place steer.

Cousin Sydney selling her third place steer. When Syd came over to us after the sale, the first words out of her mouth to T were "You don't have a hair bow on!" It had gotten pretty hot, so we had already taken it off, much to Syd's disappointment!

And little Miss Lindsay had two goats and did great with them this year, also her first year in 4-H. She got a first and second place (with Hammer Ranch goats I might add)! But darn it, Aunt Emily's camera wigged out when Lindsay was in the ring with her goat...no picture :(
We had a great day at the fair and are headed back for the ranch rodeo tomorrow!

The Pioneer Woman
I guess I'm into sharing my favorite things with you all lately...I just have to share with you my favorite website ever...The Pioneer Woman. Ree, wife and mother of four, chronicles her life on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma. I especially love her Confessions of a Pioneer Woman...so funny! Makes me so thankful I was raised on the ranch and makes me even more crazy anxious to get this house sold (we have two showings scheduled this weekend, so cross your fingers) and get back to the ranch.
OK, that's all my ramblings for now, waiting on the hubby to get home from checking cows...see if this house would sell, he'd already be home!
Have a good weekend!

Mom'sential
My new favorite product...a Mommy must have...DRY SHAMPOO...for all of those days you can't find time to wash your hair. Fabulous!
Security Blanket
The past several weeks T has become majorly obsessed with her burp cloths...gripping them and chewing them. I told Just that if she's going to become attached to something and have a security blanket, it at least has to be cute...I don't want her dragging around a grungy diaper burp rag!
So...another mission for Mom! Here's what I came up with...a "taggies" blanket.

She seems to love it...yay!

8 Years
Happy anniversary babe!
We've had some amazing times, but I think we'll both agree, the T babe is the BEST thing that's ever happened to us! (I vividly remember our anniversary last year...it was probably the day I was MOST sick throughout my pregnancy...we contemplated going to the emergency room all night because I couldn't stop throwing up! I called into work the next morning and took my 40 hours "vacation time.")
Look how young we are!

All of these kids are in HS now!

This weekend Just and I took a weekend getaway to Boulder/Broomfield to celebrate our anniversary. Our first night away from T...thanks Grandma and Grandpa! Everyone did great! : )

Thanks for a fantastic 8 years and I look forward to MANY more!
