Say My Name

Today {or really by the time I get this up, it should be yesterday...whatevs} I'm linking up with Amanda over at Princess of the Panhandle for a fun linkup about blog names.

The Vintage Modern Wife: Say My Name Link Up

{{Why Trailerhood Aristocrats?!?!}}

When our Little Lady was born I started a blog {that's what every new Mama does, right?!?} so that our family and friends could have a never ending supply of pictures of our new bundle of joy. And since I was pretty horrible at keeping the baby book up to date, the blog was a great way to document all of the memories and milestones. That's how "Toddling with Tressie" was born.

Six months after our Little Lady was born, we were blessed with the opportunity to move from the city back to my family's four generation ranch in the small eastern Colorado town of Wild Horse. We moved into a trailer house. Yes, a trailer house. Afraid that people might classify me as trailer trash, I decided not to give them the chance and began referring to ourselves as the Trailerhood Aristocrats. That's how "Trailerhood Aristocrats" was born.

Here's how I introduced Trailerhood Aristocrats:
We don't have a neighbor named Carl Dean with pink flamingos on his porch. No gambling Jane across the street who's always got the poker game. And I'm pretty sure if a tornado's coming, we're going to head for cover, not grab our six pack and lawn chairs. But we do think it's our little piece of paradise and there is always something going on down in our trailerhood. So we invite you to keep up with our trailerhood adventures here on the ranch through our new blog Trailerhood Aristocrats.

After keeping both blogs for awhile, I finally consolidated them into one.

John Wayne {that's my husband's blog name} and I are in the planning stage of building our forever home here on the ranch. One of the first questions that I asked John Wayne was, "Do you think I'll have to rename my blog?"  {Because I happen to love my blog name and design!}

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to get to know you and your blog, so leave a comment, become a follower and I'll come visit you!

This and That

Hello friends!
Thought I'd take a quick minute and update you all on what's been going on in our world the past week or so.

We took the Little Lady for her 3-year-old birthday photos.
Contrary to the wonderful pictures below...she was a disaster.
Our wonderful photographer sure earned her pay that day.

This little guy...well, he's growing too fast in his Mama's opinion.
At his 4-month check-up he weighed in at 15.4 pounds and measured 25 inches.
He finally got to move into his crib {that's a story for another post}.  He's done great.
I like this picture because since he is swaddled he still looks like a little baby to me : )

We had a snow day last week!
We started the morning with red velvet pancakes {complete with cream cheese frosting}!
Spent time hanging out with cute kids.
And took the Little Lady sledding.
Snow days...they should happen occasionally.

And now for my random pics...
I walked in on the Little Lady singing into her microphone {radio antenna} at the top of her lungs.  So cute.
I've been in party prep mode getting ready for a big "Under the Sea" mermaid party this Saturday.
And that orange paint...that's part of that blog for another day.

That's all for now.
Have a great week!

Snow Day {{2.21.13}}

It finally snowed!
Not nearly as much as we were prepared for {they said it was going to be BIG}.
I think the city ended up with the big.
Oh well, we'll take any moisture that we can get.

Even though it wasn't as big as we were expecting.
There was still enough snow blowing around to make driving 55 miles in it to work a bad idea.
So John Wayne and I worked from home.
Anytime that we work from home and there's snow, we always take a break to take the Little Lady outside to play in it.
She was so excited about the snow last night that it took her forever to go to sleep.

So after lunch, we took the Little Buckaroo to Gaga's house and we played in the snow!

The Little Buckaroo {{Four-Months-Old}}

I'm going to begin sounding like a broken record.
But...Gunner really is like the easiest baby ever.
He eats good.
He sleeps good.
And he's happy.
Like happy, happy, happy.

I love this picture.
Look how red his hair is looking...!!!

Ten on Ten {{February 2013}}

Ten pictures on the 10th day of the month
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

The Little Lady ready to do one of her favorite things...go check the cows with Daddy.

The Little Buckaroo is a big fan of his swing.

Finally got a few Valentine's Day decoration up around here.

Someone is always trying to sit up on his own.
So we busted out the Bumbo.
Someone loves it.

Sweet treats!

I pinned chocolate dipped heart rice krispy treats...thought I'd give them a try.
They're cute, but super sweet.

The Little Lady enjoying her cookies that Papa Dave sent home with her.

 Getting Valentines ready to go in the mail tomorrow.

InstaFriday

Hello friends!

I've kinda been MIA on the blog scene lately.

Well, that's because two weeks ago, I loaded all this stuff up...
...hit the road...
...and have been spending quality time {like two weeks solid} with this thing {the trade show booth}.

In the past two weeks, I've been to:
~ Colorado Cattlemen's Convention
~ Colorado Farm Show
~ High Plains No-Till Convention
~ CSU Ag Sciences Career Fair
~ Arkansas Valley Farm, Ranch and Water Symposium

Whew!

One of the perks of being on the road, is good meals and treats!

When I was in Fort Collins for the Career Fair, I tried out the Rustic Oven and had their spicy shrimp and artichoke pizza.
Oh.my.goodness.
SO yummy.

And when I'm in the city, any city, I always start my morning with a special coffee treat, seeing as how on a normal day, the only "special" coffee treat available to me is 99 cent cappuccino from Loaf 'n Jug.
Um, no thank you.
But FYI...John Wayne loves that stuff and would drink it over Starbucks any day.

The Rocky Mountain Collegian - CSU's campus newspaper.
I worked here in college, doing PR for them.

Overnight stays in the city, also means shopping trips.  Alone. With no kids.
Although I learned that shopping trips, alone, with no kids, can be particularly hard on the wallet.
I did start picking up stuff for the Little Lady's mermaid birthday party that's coming up in a few weeks.

While on campus, I got the Little Buckaroo this adorable Colorado State "Lil' Ram" cap.
I also got T a pink CSU water bottle.
She loves it.
I've never seen her drink so much water.
Apparently, pink CSU water bottles make drinking water fun.

This might be a good time to note that we have a problem in our household.
When I returned from CSU with these goodies, John Wayne and I were teaching T to say where her and GW are going to go to school.
"CU" says the Little Lady.
UGH! NO. NO. NO.  You cannot forget to say the S.  The S is very important in this case Tressie.

And finally, a random donut picture for the week.
Donuts make any week good, right?
My Mom made homemade chocolate donuts and the Little Lady and I frosted and decorated them.
They were delicious.

Have a great weekend my friends!
