A Few Stories

There have been a couple of good ones lately, so I thought it was time to document them.

One day in all of Tressie's random ramblings:
"The things I fear the most in life: rats, snakes and not being popular."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other day Tressie told Gaga:
"If I was you, and he was my kid (pointing at her brother), I'd sleep with one eye open.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tressie told me that she was out of glue at school.
So I bought her some new glue sticks and gave her one to go put in her backpack.
T:  "Mom, can I have another glue stick."
Me:  "What'd you do with the one I just gave you."
T:  "Gunner has it.  He's putting it on his lips."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And finally, Saturday night on the way home from state basketball, Tressie proceeded to cheer the whole way home.  We had all had about enough of it.

Tressie:  "When I say purple, you said gold. Purple."
Gunner:  "Shut your mouth."

Tressie and Gunner, keeping a smile on our faces!!

GW

And since it seems like the last 10 posts have been about his sister {turning 5 IS a pretty big deal} let's talk about this guy for a minute.

This picture pretty much sums Gunner up right now.
He wants, "no help," doing anything right now.

So if that means walking around with your coat on upside down, so be it!

State Hoops

Last weekend the whole family traveled three hours north to Loveland to cheer our Lady Wildcats on at the 1A Colorado State Basketball Championships.

We went in ranked #2, undefeated.
The girls easily won their first game on Thursday night.

Friday night, we faced the eventual state runner-ups and lost.
It was a disappointing game, one of those where things weren't clicking for us.
The littles still had fun cheering on their Wildcats.
And win or lose, we'll always be proud to be KC Wildcats.

We stayed at a hotel.
With a water slide.
Awesome fun for all.
Although Mr. GW almost prefers the "hot pool" to the water slide.

Saturday afternoon, our Lady Wildcats easily claimed the 3rd place trophy.
We are so proud of these ladies, they are a great group on and off the court.

This is Brooke.
Or as Tressie calls her Brookes.
Brooke is an aid in T's pre-school class.
Miss T thinks Brookes hung the moon.
We all think Brooke is pretty awesome.
It's awesome that our little lady has such a great roll model to look up to.

After spending the entire weekend with the Kit Carson community, I am so happy and proud that we're part of this community.
The community shows up to support their team.
The big kids take care of the little kids.
It's a great group to be a part of.

Proud to be Kit Carson Wildcats!

Girl's Day!!

Miss T and I had a girl's day last week!

I don't know about you, but the only way we know how to start a girl's day is at Starbucks.
She looks a little like she could use some caffeine doesn't she.

Then it was time for the doctor and kindergarten shots.
Shots, boo.
But she did great.

Highlight of the doctors visit...getting her ears pierced.
Yes, at the doctors office.
Way better than a 16-year-old girl doing it at the mall.
At least this mama thinks so!

And the big finale...picking out her new doll at the American Girl Doll store!!!
She used her birthday money and bought it all herself.
Pretty cute!

Super fun girl's day!!

P.S.  I hope she still likes me this much when she's 13.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

These little leprechauns were up to their usual shenanigans on St. Patrick's Day.
We hope you had a fun day and didn't get pinched!!

Magical Unicorn Party --- With the Family!

This year, we had two birthday parties.
One with family and family friends and one for T and her little school friends.

Same theme, same décor for both parties.
Magical Unicorn and Rainbow.
Pretty fun theme!

More photo booth fun.
We totally intended to make every single person at the party dress up and snap a pic, but we forgot : (

The birthday girl is pretty into hoops, so she got her own hoop and ball to practice.

And the highlight...when Dandy the Magical Unicorn made an appearance!!!
{All Papa's doing, thanks Papa!}

We had tons of fun celebrating Miss Tressie as she turned five!!!

Magical Unicorn Party --- With the Friends!!!

After the disappointment of having to postpone her family birthday party, the weather cooperated and we were able to celebrate as planned, with T's little girlfriends from school on Sunday, her actually birthday.

This is one very happy little lady!!!
She requested a photo booth.
I had fun putting it together and the girls had fun dressing up and getting their pics taken.
It will be the featured activity again this weekend at the family party.

Such a fun group of sweet little ladies!

A magical rainbow and unicorn party was the theme.
Rainbow is after all T's favorite color and unicorns are her favorite animal : )

Party activities also included rainbow and unicorn coloring sheets and decorating unicorn horns {sugar ice cream cones}.

The Little Lady had so much fun.
Several times in the middle of the party, she yelled "best birthday ever!"
I'm so glad you had the best birthday ever Little Lady!!

Tressie and Mama Day

T and I got to spend the whole day together yesterday.
Because, we both had cavities and had to go back to the dentist...but it gave us a whole day together none the less.

We started the morning with a donut from Liggy's. {cavities, who cares...}

She came to work with me yesterday morning.
I packed a bag of activities to keep her busy.
Including a surprise from Gaga and Papa, a birthday present...a new game for her Leap Pad!

I ended up having an impromptu meeting for about 45 minutes.
T was SO good.
She set under my desk {the guy totally knew she was there and I didn't make her sit under the desk, I offered her a chair, she prefers to play under my desk!} and watched a movie on Netflix.
The only peep we heard out of her was when she was occasionally bust out in a song from the movie.
I'd gently nudge her with my foot...and she'd hit back.

We of course left the office in time to go to Chick-Fil-A for lunch.

She was a complete rock star at the dentist.
She had the doc and all the hygienists ogling over her.
So she ended up having to have what the doc referred to as a "baby root canal."
When you walk out of the dentist after that and say "that was fun!" you get the new Princess Power Barbie.
{Look a her poor little numb face!!!}

We grabbed a few groceries.
Had a pony ride.

I was totally ready to just hit the road, but she begged to go to dinner.
So Noodles it was.

Even if it all did revolve around a trip to the dentist, I had a fun day with my little lady!

T's Birthday --- Classroom Treats

Last Friday GW and I took treats to school for T's birthday.

I wanted a fun yummy treat, but one that wouldn't make a mess.
So I made cupcakes {actually Gaga baked and I frosted}, took them out of the wrapper, placed them in a plastic punch cup and included a plastic fork.
Perfect!

They were in music class when we got there, so I set a treat and a unicorn napkin on everyone's desk.
T was very excited to see me and her little brother when they got back to her classroom.

Her sweet teacher, Miss Lowe, gave her a special birthday crown to wear.
As you can imagine, T of course loved this.

Little brother really enjoyed going to school too!!

While I am sad that she's growing up so quickly, it was fun to take treats to school!
