Wild Pony

So...I have this new little project...hobby, as the Little Lady calls it.

I don't know, I guess I don't value sleep...I needed one more thing to fill my days,
but I do like pretty things and sharing pretty things with pretty people.

And, Wild Pony was born.

Wild Pony...a sassy boutique for all of those ranch ladies who like to stand out in a crowd!

You can shop Wild Pony on Facebook at www.facebook.com/shopwildpony

Wild Pony made its debut this weekend at the
Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo in Hugo.

The first day was slow, but it picked up the second day
and the second afternoon was pretty good!

A look at the pretty things available from Wild Pony.
I'm in the process of getting inventory for purchase up on Facebook.

Saturday afternoon I had a little helper at the booth.
Such a little diva!

I'll probably occasionally post Wild Pony items for sale on here,
for those of you that are interested, but don't do Facebook.

I also have a blog domain reserved for Wild Pony,
but I just don't know if I want to manage two blogs right now.

In the meantime, if you do Facebook, head on over to
www.facebook.com/shopwildpony and give us a "Like!"

I'm an Aunty!!!

Miss Maddie Jean arrived a surprisingly five weeks early,
last Tuesday morning at 1:05AM.

The little miss weighed in at 5 pounds and 15 ounces,
measuring 19.75 inches and is perfectly healthy.

She's a perfect little doll baby!

Beau or Bow...

A week and a half ago we had another shower for Katie and Baby White.
I loved everything about this shower...the theme, the venue, the food, everything!

We had it at a little bakery - Cupcake Girls - in downtown Colorado Springs.
So.stinking.cute.

Perfect venue...and they let us host the shower there for free.  Score.

Awhile back when I saw the wine glasses with the stems painted with chalkboard paint, I immediately thought they'd be perfect for this shower.

John Wayne wins rockstar husband award, because he helped me pretty much painted all of them.

{Note, should you want to make some, we taped and spray painted...
they turned out perfect and were pretty easy!}

One day I was feeling extra creative and came up with the following:

Grab a glass and write your name.
Fill it up...we're so glad you came.

When the night comes to an end,
your glass with you, we will send.

On Baby White's arrival day,
pour a glass of cabernet.

Raise a toast to our girl Katie
and her new little lad or lady!

We had quite the spread of yummy appetizers and delicious cupcakes: red velvet, carrot cake and chocolate creme filled.

Katie requested a photo booth...

Cute little pregger girl enjoying the cupcakes!

I made Kate a special baby quilt.
I used pieces of my bridesmaid's dress from her wedding for some of the squares.

Say cheese...!!!

Beau or Bow...we don't know?!?!

{{Although...we do know...a healthy Baby White came 5 weeks early!!!  Stay tuned...}}

Father's Day 2013

We had a really fun day yesterday celebrating our Dads.

This guy right here...yeh, we think he's pretty awesome!

We know it's Father's Day, but...

A pretty decent pic of our little family...

Me and the Little Lady with my Grandpa and Mom.
{GW was napping.}

The kids and me with my Dad and Grandpa.
It's not any big secret that the Little Lady and her Papa are tight.
{PS...Caught the cowboy in his tennies...this is rare footage folks!}

John Wayne, the kids and his Dad.

There was good food, T-ball, swimming...all-in-all, a great day!

Saturday morning, the Little Lady woke up insisting to paint.
Here's what we came up with with her masterpieces - gift card holders.

T-Ball

John Wayne came home with a treat for the Little Lady yesterday.

She loves it.

Look at that form and concentration.
She looks like she's going to crush it!

I'm sure we have many summers at the ballpark to look forward to!

Branding 2013

We branded our calves over at John Wayne's Dad's place that we lease on Saturday.

The Little Lady is big stuff now {just ask her} and got to go along with the guys to gather.

We just had a small group to do this year, so our crew was small too.
Our niece and nephew got in on the flanking action.

Gaga helped me with the kids and in the kitchen.
What would we do without Gaga?!?

The Little Lady's a big cowgirl...until you get her in the branding pen.
She hated it and wanted out and ran and hid.

The Little Buckaroo on the other hand...loved it.

My Dad draggin' calves on Cutter.

With such a good crew, the day went really smooth.

That's our friend Paul vaccinating.
Paul is 80-some-years-old.
John Wayne and I have both decided that if we're doing half as good as Paul when we're 80,
we'll consider ourselves lucky.

Branding Day - John Wayne's favorite day of the year
{Although he did tell me that your own branding isn't as much fun as just going to everyone elses.  I suppose when it's your own, you have the stress of making sure that everything goes smooth.}

I guess I agree with John Wayne, I like everyone elses branding better too.
I like just showing up with a pie and visiting, better than I do getting up at 4:30AM to get the pot of beans going! : )

Now...if it would just rain, the wind would stop howling and it wouldn't be 107 degrees in the beginning of June.
We're moving to summer pasture this weekend, but like most every other rancher in Colorado and surrounding states, if it doesn't rain soon...

PRAY FOR RAIN

The Little Buckaroo {{Eight-months-old}}

Eight-months-old...this is seriously hard to believe!

Not much new in the eating or sleeping department.
He still sleeps great and doesn't love solid food.
Unless puffs and graham crackers are "food."
He's coming along though.
I don't think he's suffering any : )

The big news this month is we have the fastest crawler around.
He's got to keep up with that big sister, you know.
And...he's pulling up...and shuffling back and forth along the couch.
He'll pull up, forget that he can't yet stand...or walk...turn around to take off...and fall down.

You can't really see it in any of these pics, but he has one tooth through and I noticed the one next to it breaking though just yesterday.

He's beginning to figure out that he can fight back against his sister, or more like, defend his space when she's smothering him.

We love our happy, smiley Little Buckaroo and can't imagine our lives without him!
Happy 8-months GW!

A Baby Shower

First, a little story about the Little Lady.
She was VERY excited to go to Aunt Katie's baby shower.
One day when we were talking about it, she says, "So, a baby shower...does that mean we take a bath with Aunt Katie's Baby?"
Three-year-olds, so logical, right.

So Sunday was the big baby shower.

This lady wears pregnancy well, don't you think?!

She busted out the wedges...we are the same height.
I just felt the need to tell you that.

I hosted the shower with her sister and sisters-in-law.
I don't think I have to tell you who is who, I bet you can figure it out.

T had a big time playing with all of the little girls at the shower...there were a lot of them!
GW was the only boy...poor guy, but he got a lot of attention.

We did a nursery rhyme theme.
I found the cutest vintage nursery rhyme clip art on Etsy to use for the decorations.

We asked everyone to bring a copy of their favorite children's book as part of their gift.
Baby White has quite the collection of books now.

We took "Tickle Monster", my kids LOVE this book!

For my gift, I put together a basket of my favorite things for her: a Halo sleepsack, aden + anais swaddle blankets, George Strait lullaby CD, Pampers diapers and wipes, Boudreaux's Butt Paste, MAM pacifiers, Tommee Tippee bottle, Gap baby socks {the only socks that will stay on!}, a set of handmade burp cloths and Sophie the Giraffe teething toy {from the kids to Baby White, as their favorite baby product!}.

We had a very fun day celebrating Katie and Baby White!
