Big City Fun With Friends

A couple of weekends ago {I know, I'm behind again} we spent the weekend in Denver with our friends the Knutsons.
You know, KK, T's boyfriend...and his adorable little brother and GW's homie, Jase.

We started the day at the Denver Aquarium.

The kids loved looking at all of the fish.

There were also a few other fun things for the kids, like a carousel...

 ...and a train.
Which I was the lucky adult who got to ride with the kids, because we all know that GW would have tried to escape.

After some lunch,  it was time for some relaxing by the pool at our favorite Denver area resort -- the Omni Interlocken.
I bragged on it last year, we stayed a night here on our way to Beaver Creek.
It has an awesome pool area.

Dinner time!

After dinner, it was time for the movie at the resort.
The movie is supposed to be played out in the pool area, but due to rain in the forecast, it was moved into a ballroom.
You know, I do always love watching Cars in my still soggy swimsuit.
Oh well, it was still fun none-the-less.
They had popcorn and candy for the kids, and the kids, and well me too, made ourselves at home on the ballroom floor.

After the movie, the Goldings did go for an 11 o'clock swim and it was awesome.

And then another thing about this resort that I think is just adorable, is milk and cookies for the kids and bottles of water for the adults, are part of the turn down service.

The next morning, we totally slept in, which was like the first time all summer.
And then I got us all lost..drove us half way to Fort Collins...but breakfast was good when we finally got there!

A fun weekend with our fun friends!!!

Annie Gets Married!!!

My oldest, and one of my best, friends got married!
Annie was my first friend.
Her Dad was the pastor at the little community church that I grew up in.

Over the years, we've lived close...and we've lived far apart, but we have that friendship that never misses a beat.
She was by my side the day I said my I dos and I am so honored that I was by her side this weekend when she married a great guy!

The wedding was in a beautiful mountain setting.
The girls hung out all day and got ready together in the apartment above the barn at the ranch.

I snuck in a pre-wedding #bridesmaidselfie : )

Annie let us each pick out our own dress.
Bless you Anne.
I was so in love with mine and my accessories!
And my hair...Brian's {the groom} sweet cousin fixed my hair for me...could not have loved it more.
I told her that I like "big hair."
And well, she nailed it.

Let's back up a second...speaking of dresses...Anne's dress.
I have no words for how much I love her dress.
It was perfect.

I totally stole this perfect picture of the couple off of Facebook.
It just makes me happy : )

Post wedding, I was able to get a pic with T and GW before they became covered in watermelon, cake pops and smores.
Um yeh, watermelon, cake pops and smores -- most fun {and laid back} wedding reception ever.

LOVE this pic of me and my littles!!

I think hope my Mom has a picture with Justin in it on her camera?!?!

My sweet Mom and Dad.
Aren't they the best?!

Seriously, by the end of the night, I deemed this little man "cake pop drunk."
This picture is watermelon, which he obviously enjoyed, but when he found the cake pops, it was over.

And the perfect end to a perfect night -- a sparkler send off of course!

So, in case you couldn't tell...my awesome friend had an awesome wedding.

Love you Mr. & Mrs. Bonn!!!
Thanks for letting us be part of your special day : )

Happy 4th of July!

One of my best friends got married this weekend.
ROAD TRIP!!!

The morning of the Fourth, we loaded up the Yukon and headed towards the mountains.

We stopped in Pueblo to stretch our legs and grab some lunch.
See this boy...orneriness oozes from him.

First item on the agenda, rehearsal.
The wedding site...A-MAZING.

Then it was time for the super fun rehearsal dinner/4th of July party.
Totally fun!
The grooms mom rented an awesome {huge!} house by the Royal Gorge in Canon City, that's where the party was.
The food and drinks were great and she put together really neat goodie bags for all of the kiddos filled with red, white and blue swag.

It was a great way to spend our Fourth!

Swimming Lessons!

T and GW finished up swimming lessons last week.
Last year T did group lessons in Hugo and they were great.
Exactly what she needed as an introduction to the water, but this year we decided to go with private lessons in Limon.
The teacher in Limon is very experienced and very good.

T got SO much out of these lessons.
It was fun to watch her improve over the course of the lessons.

GW...well, let's just say he didn't like the idea of being handed off to a stranger.

Most of his time in the pool was spent crying.
He'd rather catch some rays poolside...with his Mama.

Although, he didn't really like it, I still feel like it was good to get him in the pool.

We loved Miss Brenda and look forward to coming back for more lessons!

Living Life Large

Whenever I go on vacation, I always live by "I can rest when I get home."
Well, I guess I'm going to have to extend that to my life with the whole "I can rest when I die."
"I can rest when I die"...is that a thing, or did I make that up.

Anyways...another fun-filled weekend in the books.
Saturday afternoon we went to Hugo to the Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo.
Look at these two little buckaroos!
This is a new favorite picture for me.

One of the highlights of this rodeo is that I get to see my friend Tori.
Tori lives straight south of me.
About six hours straight south of me, in Earth, TX.
I met my sweet friend through blogging and I just wish that that six hours was more like sixty minutes because I would love to get to hang out with her more.

So, this cute little blue-eyed, blond-haired cowboy.
About half way to Hugo, I look over at John Wayne and tell him that we have a problem.
We forgot the bop.
GW was fine the whole time we were at the rodeo.
He was way into all the action, and Great Grandma kept him well supplied with snocones and M&Ms.
But the second we strapped him into his carseat for the ride home...oh my goodness, let me tell you, it was not pretty.
The ENTIRE 40 miles home were filled with the biggest hissy I have ever witnessed.
To say we have a bit of a bop issue, would be an understatement.
{*For the those of you wondering what the heck a "bop" is, in our world, a pacifier is lovingly referred to as a bop.}

Sunday, we loaded back up, armed with a whole supply of bops, and headed to the big city for Farm Credit's employee picnic.
We went to the Sky Sox game, Colorado Springs minor league baseball team.
The kids had never been to a baseball game and were pretty excited.

The park has a fun "kids zone" complete with a couple of bounce houses, slides and a pitching area.
John Wayne beamed as his kids rocked it at the pitching area.
"Step and throw," T would repeat to herself each time she stepped up to throw.
GW did pretty good too!

The game and activities were fun, but it was super hot out.
So we concluded our day by visiting Lolo at Dairy Queen to get ice cream.

So we started another work week with bags strewn about and piles of laundry that I'm not sure if they're clean or dirty, but we're living life large, and for now, that's all that matters!
