Lucy and Lacy much prefer napping on the couch all day rather than being locked out in the cold!

"See bed rest really does work..."
I just got home from the doctor...my blood pressure is down! Dr. Lalonde just kinda looked at me and grinned when he said "see bed rest really does work." I may have fought him on the idea just a little bit in the beginning. : ) I'm fortunate that it's only been for a short period of time and it's not strict bed rest...I can still work from my laptop and do a few things around the house - but for the most part, my days are supposed to be spent on the couch. Which at first may sound quite appealing, but one week into it...I'M CLIMBING THE WALLS! (For those of you that are wondering, the Olympics broadcast the boring sports like curling during the day.)
So Tressie, for the next week, the ball's in your court! If nothings happened, I go back to the doctor Monday...if my bp is up, he did tell me that he'll induce me that day, if not...more waiting...

It was a long weekend
Between the cold snowy weather and the wondering if "today's the day?" it was a very long weekend! But for all of you that are wondering...no, no baby this weekend. We tried to pass the time by watching movies, the Olympics, playing dice and the Wii - bowling is difficult even on the Wii when you're nine months pregnant!
I just sent Just off to Limon and I don't think the roads are too fabulous today, so let's pray that today isn't the day.
I go back to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, so I'll update then if there's no news to report before then!

Just kidding...
I just got back from the doctor and my blood pressure is down! He won't be inducing me this weekend after all. He did say that he still wants it to happen sooner rather than later, but the specs for inducement weren't there today. He did go ahead and strip my membranes (sorry to those of you that that was too much information!)...so that could speed the process up. So who knows, we could still have a baby this weekend?!?!
I'll keep you updated...

Looks like someone will be joining us early...
For the past few weeks I've been struggling with a touch of high blood pressure. At my doctor's appointment yesterday, Dr. Lalonde told me that he'll probably induce me on Friday...yes, THIS Friday! I will be 37 weeks and he said once we reach that point, baby is ready and there's no since in waiting any longer since my blood pressure is high. So, I go back tomorrow and he'll decide for sure, but it looks like we'll be having a baby this weekend! I'll update tomorrow after my appointment.
P.S. I'm pretty nervous about being induced, so please pray!

The nursery is finished!
Every baby's nursery is put together with love, but I think it's only fair to say that EXTRA love has been poured into Baby Tressie's nursery! A big thank you especially to Justin and my Grandma for making my dream nursery become a reality!
I picked out the vintage cowboy prints months ago and decided that's what it would be regardless of if we had a boy or girl...there would be no generic baby blue or pink nursery for our baby!
My Grandma Chisman made all of the bedding...quilts, bumpers, pillows, curtains...everything! She is a very special and talented lady!
I bought the cheapest mobile I could find and recrafted it to match the nursery.
Justin spent countless (grueling) hours in the garage sanding and painting the rocking chair and dresser that I had as a little girl. It would have been much easier to go buy new ones, but new doesn't equal special!
And thank you to my Mom too, she put in her fair share of time cutting fabric and painting letters and stars for the wall.
I can't wait to bring Baby Tressie home to her very special nursery!

Boots and Bows
Aunt Katie's "Boots and Bows" shower was great!
Katie (with the help of her sister Sarah) paid perfect attention to every little detail. Check out the spread...and those cupcakes, aren't they adorable!
The whole house was decorated with fresh flower bouquets in boots complete with turquoise bows!
Baby Tressie once again made out like a bandit! Here's her "Fancy Nancy" book from the Maranville's...it's one of the cutest little girl's books I've ever seen! Not only did Tressie receive many great clothes and things for her nursery, but each of the girls brought her a hair bow to start her collection!
It was a great party with my closest girlfriends: Katie W, Katie C, Sara, Jenn, Jocelyn, me and Staci.
And finally here's a shot of the two pregnant girls...Jocelyn's due a month after me on April 13th. It's so much fun to be going through this whole experience with one of my best friends!

I work with an amazing group!
Today was a great day at work! My office threw me a surprise shower! It was masked as a Friday pizza party, but when I walked into the room, there were baby shower decorations everywhere, complete with pink table cloths and an "It's a Girl" banner!
After pizza, we enjoyed the great cake that Judy made...it was almost too cute to cut into...it was a baby crib...have you ever seen such a cute cake!!!
I felt overwhelmed by the generosity that everyone showed me and Baby Tressie! We got so many great things: swaddle me wraps, sleepers, blankets, books, stuffed animals...and some VERY generous gift cards to Babies R Us! I think one of the best gifts was from Kim...diapers...great...we all know that we'll need a never ending supply of those, right?!? But the best part was when after I opened the diapers, Kim handed me a box of face masks and said she thought we might need those too!!! With Justin and I's history of gag reflex, we just might!!!
Everyone helped me pile the gifts into my car...on the way home I kept hearing a neighing sound coming from my back seat...yep it was "Trotter" the pony! He's awful cute...check back in a year and we'll see if we still think he's so cute!
