May Goals Update

Oh how I have been dreading writing this month’s goals update. When you’re dreading sharing it, it’s most likely for one reason: you’ve been a big failure. And for most of May, that’s exactly what I was, a big failure in the goals department.

Drink more water.
I was apparently drinking so much Diet Coke, it was causing me to be in a constant state of bloat. Early last week, I was MIS-ER-ABLE…I haven’t had a DC in five days and feel back to normal (except for the fact that I’m now falling asleep on my desk in the afternoon). So…I think that speaks for itself.

Stick to a budget.
I did it again…I borrowed from my house fund.
Sorry in advance to all of my friends and family for the “paintings” by a 20-month-old that you will all be receiving from the Golding’s for Christmas this year, because I am still determined to have my goal amount stashed away in my savings at the end of the year.

Read atleast one book each month.
I did get a book read this month! An amazing little book: Heaven is for RealA Little Boys Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back. If you haven’t read it, you should. Really, you should. It’s powerful (and entertaining and quick).

Keep my pictures organized.
Thanks to the NASTY, NASTY wind yesterday, I did make huge progress in this department. It was disgusting outside, so I didn’t get anything done that I had planned, but I did spend the afternoon at my computer moving and saving pictures. I have just about completed a Shutterfly book of the Little Lady’s first Christmas. Yay, this was a huge accomplishment for me!

Start sewing again.
My Mom got an IOU for Mother’s Day.
Really, Emily?
Yes really, her bag is still not done.
EPIC failure.

Exercise.
After taking a couple of weeks off (**sigh**), I did really well in this department the last few weeks. I’m even going to add a nighttime abs regiment in several nights a week. I bought a swimsuit…enough said.

The “d” word.
My May goal was 10 pounds. I lost 3…barely. I’m embarrassed, really embarrassed, to be telling you this. I had such a terrible month, I’ve almost put my birthday weight goal out of reach. Actually, unless I eat lettuce and water exclusively for the next 6 weeks, I’m pretty sure that I have.

So, there’s one word that pretty much sums up my May goal’s progress: fail. I don’t know what my deal is, but if I don’t get myself back on track, I can guarantee there will not be a June goals update. I hate to fail, but even more then failing, I hated telling you all about it. So, here’s to a June goals update…

You crack me up! I just finished Heaven is for Real also. Very, very interesting book.... Glad I read it. What's your next book?

The Pioneer Woman's book has been sitting on my nightstand for months, so I finally (don't know what took me so long?!?) picked it up and took it and started it at lunch yesterday. Seems like it'll be a funny (of course!) quick read. Then I'm not sure what's next. You?

Em,

Did you know that Sandy and Thad went to school with Todd and Sonia Burpo? I think that Sandy even taught school with Sonia for a few years.

Also, you are not a failure in the Mother's Day gift department until the project has sat on your closet shelf for several years. :)
