Life in Phone Pictures - Vegas Trip

As promised, here are the Vegas trip pics...remember the ones I took with my phone, because I didn't take any other camera.

I'm an only child, but these two fabulous ladies are like sisters to me, my bestie Katie and her sister Sarah, and to make everything even better, all of our awesome husbands are great friends too.

So, last Thursday night {after the longest work day of all of our lives} we headed to Vegas for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo! Here we are at Denver International Airport ready to board our plane.

We got into Vegas around 9:30 and after quickly dumping our bags, we headed down to the casino to check out the action. We stayed at the MGM Grand, one of the WNFR host hotels. The place was packed every night after the rodeo. On our way to find something to eat, we spotted Billy Etbauer, five time NFR Saddle Bronc Champion. So we had to snap a picture of Willy by Billy : )

Friday morning there was no time to be wasted, after a great breakfast at Rainforest Cafe, we were headed out to shop. Vegas during the WNFR is a dream for all of us sassy cowgirls, all of the best boots, belts, jewelry, purses, home decor, etc. that you have ever seen!

First, we headed to South Point where John Wayne's uncle was roping in the World Series of Team Roping. It was so fun to get to see his uncle rope and spend a little time with his aunt. An added bonus to this Vegas trip!

After the roping, the ladies started shopping while the guys started gambling. We did steal them away from the tables for a few minutes to do the wife thing: "We need to pose for a picture."

From there it was onto one of the convention centers for some major shopping. While there, we saw Bill Engvall..."Here's your sign."

We stayed at the MGM Grand (I think I already told you this)...here are a few shots of their Lion Habitat. We heard that this had been cleaned out to house a bull during the WNFR, but apparently not good enough, the bull could still smell the lions and was like no way!

Friday night was the Merle Haggard concert at the Golden Nugget. I'm not usually a huge fan of Downtown Las Vegas...I like the modern feel of the strip, but the Golden Nugget is a really nice casino.

Sarah and I sporting our "Mama Tried" get-ups. After the show, one of Merle's publicist snapped a photo of us because she said "Merle will love this." Yes, we're Merle groupies, we're cool with that.

Saturday, after some more, you guessed it, shopping, we stopped at Margaritaville. Hello Beach Bum Santa.

Check out my "Trailer Park Queen" shirt! It was ridiculous how many compliments I got on it : )

And then finally, here are the ladies ready for our final night on the town. We snagged an AMAZING semi-private room in one of the lounges at MGM and had an awesome place to watch the final round of the rodeo.

As I'm sure you can tell, we had a great time in Vegas, but then this week I've been fighting a killer cold. One of my co-workers said it best, "You know what this means...that you're too old for a weekend in Vegas!"

Here's to a great weekend! The countdown to Christmas is on!
